How to Remove and Reuse Press-On Nails Safely

When should you remove press-on nails?

Remove the set when you are ready to change your design or when an edge begins to lift. Do not force a partially lifted nail back into place if water or debris may have entered underneath.

What you need

• A bowl of comfortably warm water
• An orangewood stick
• A soft towel
• The original storage box

Step-by-step removal

1. Soak for about one minute. Place the hand wearing the press-on nails in comfortably warm water for approximately one minute.
2. Start from the side. Find a small opening along the side edge of the press-on nail.
3. Lift gently. Slide an orangewood stick carefully under the side edge and lift the nail slowly.
4. Never force the nail. If it does not release easily, soak the hand in warm water again and retry after a short wait.
5. Remove the used jelly tab. Peel the remaining jelly tab gently from the natural nail and the underside of the press-on.
6. Dry before storage. Pat the press-on nails dry and allow them to air-dry completely before returning them to the storage box.

Because the nails are not fixed with liquid glue, removal does not require acetone, scraping, or adhesive-softening products. A fresh jelly tab is used for each application, while the handmade nail piece is preserved for future wear.

When not to reuse a press-on nail
